I am sorry to confess how deeply disappointed I am. And it really isn’t about “stuff” like taxes or economy or foreign policy (though all of those are important).

It’s about something deeper – a party that boos God at its convention; a party that shut out the pro-life plank it used to have; a party demanding that employers provide elective things in their insurance plans that go against religious beliefs, such as contraceptives, sterilization and abortifactants.

And deep down, I feel like once for all (in this world), abortion has won.  This was the opportunity to turn back that evil tide. I feel like it never will be, now, and I shudder to think of the carnage to souls touched by it. The toll is already great and I think the thing that makes me weep, is how many people – good and loving people – choose not to think about it. They say they understand, they say they don’t support it themselves … and they turn away.

“A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.” (Matthew 2:18)
